The History Of Paintball

In this article i’m mainly going to show you some markers that have left their trace in the history of paintball. But first: A small introduction.

The first actual game of paintball took place in 1981, between 12 players using the Nelspot 007. The first game was a capture the flag scenario game. Trough the 80’s the sport of paintball started spreading . First it spread to England, Australia and South Africa. Some years later it reached Europe. In 1992 the NPPL was founded and the year after there was played 4 tournaments around the country. In 1996 the World Championships Of Paintball was produced and aired by ESPN.

The first company that made a marker was Nelson Paint Company, the marker was called the Nelspot 007 and was originally used to mark trees in the forestry business. The Nelspot 007 was a bolt action or pump action pistol powered by 12 gram Co2 cartridges. The gun could also be set up with a ASA to accept HPA or Co2.

The Splatmaster was a very economic choice because it only costed around 80$. It’s internals was pretty similar to the 007 but the body was made out of solid plastic (The 007 was all steel). It held 10 round tubes of 0.68 cal. ammunition.

The Tippmann 68 Special hit the market around 1990 and it was a big hit!

This is what Tippmann wrote about it: “We took our finest gun and put it on steriods. The result is the 68 special. A new hybrid weapon with proven Tippmann quality and reliability. It combines the ruggedness of the SL-68, the most durable gun we’ve ever built, and the speed of the SMG-60, the only full automatic CO2 paintball gun.

The 68 Special is a true semi-automatic, not a double action with a new gravity feed system that eliminates ball breakage and double feeding. A 1/8″ light trigger movment lets you shoot as fast as you can squeeze off rounds. And a new liquid CO2 system that will shoot up to 200 rapid shots without loss of velocity. “

Now, things have changed and there are electric markers that shoot 20 balls per second. In USA alone, the number of paintball players is almost 10 millions. And the sport is still growing!

Shawn Burgy asked:

Archery History and Jolly Old England:

When we first think about Archery we often think about England and Kings and Knights of the Round Table. But are we correct in our psychological psychosis in this matter? We probably are correct, When we think about Archery, Were thinking about a great thing of the past. Theres not a lot of call today for Bows and Arrows like there used to be back in the days of Robin Hood and his Merry Men.

But in all reality England is where most of us imagine that Archery was founded. We may just be right, Or we may just be wrong. It’s well documented that in the days of Mongolian rule in China. Archery played a big part in there hunting. Mongolians still use this form of hunting and foraging today. But England is almost always the place that we start our journey of thought and enlightenment on the subjects. Remember it was always the Royal subjects who were in the line of fire during turbulent times. Which in the case, England was at war against itself and others most of the time. So a look back into history tells us these things. One also questions the existence of King Arthur during those times.

Many references are made to an Arthur through English history. Whether or not these cases are founded are of great emanate of belief. But what does this tell us about our questions? In itself this question taxes our inner self to answer it. I personally believe there was a King Arthur, It’s documented there was an Arthur and a Merlin. These two figures existed, In my belief also the Knights of the Round Table. Along there sides were there Archers, The beings in which this entire Article exists. Archers truly were gifted individuals who knew what they were doing. Archery is alive and well for us all to enjoy. We should try to learn as much about this great sport. Whether we want to learn for hunting or for fun. Archery is here to stay.

If its only to read and study about the history of Archery.

It still holds a lot of information and learning potential for your mind to develop on something new.

Climbing is of different types and varieties. Rock climbing history is an offshoot of Mountaineering, since most of the mountaineers always have this particular kind of drive to try more challenging and thrilling climbs and terrains. It is obvious that Rock Climbing involves climbing on steep rocks and cliffs.

According to rock climbing history, rock climbing remained a part of mountaineering. It has remained as a form of training in order to improve their climbing skills and to learn several climbing techniques.

Rock climbing history states that this activity became popular in the U.S as an essential factor in mountain climbing during 1920s. Rock Climbing discovered its identity and people started to recognize rock climbing as an individual sport in 1950s.

More and more people went crazy for this freaky sport rock climbing. This gave the way for the development of grading system. Grading system gave an indication of how easy or difficult the climb is. The climber can choose the grade he wants to climb depending on his level of skill and expertise.

Grading system is different in different countries. Each country has developed its own grading system in order to assess the climber’s level of expertise. What came with this event was the development of different Climbing Styles that are based on the type of the terrain, with or without the use of ropes and several other gear, indoor or outdoor, etc.

Rock climbing history gradually came towards a trend that made shorter but more difficult and challenging climbs. Knowing that Rock Climbing as an outdoor sport could be really dangerous as it can cause fatal accidents. Safety and protection were greatly given importance. Techniques and advanced equipments came about as a natural development leading from harder and more challenging climbing routes.

As we have seen earlier rock climbing was yet a part of mountaineering. Many developments have happened and the invention of modern techniques over the years until it became a sport in its own right, and it continues to gain popularity and craze at present.

People of all ages are enjoying this addictive and exhilarating sport. The various techniques and equipments that have come about for an improved experience aid this passion. This enables the climbers to better enjoy what Rock Climbing has to offer.

Although the practice of rock climbing according to rock climbing history was an important part of Victorian mountaineering in the Alps, it is generally considered that the sport of rock climbing began in the last quarter of the 19th century in at least 3 areas Elbsandsteingebirge, in Saxony near Dresden, the Lake District of England, and the Dolomites in Italy.

Rock climbing evolved slowly from an alpine necessity to an athletic sport in its own right, making it imprudent to cite an Ancestor of the latter in each of these three locales. Thus, Rock climbing has become a popular sport among the adventure lovers whose daring actions literally secretes adrenaline for the spectators.
